Penalty Explication
Gate: When any part of your truck hits the gate, all gates remain live until hit or progressed through. Reposition: You are stuck and can not recover your truck with a rollover. Move your truck to the last cleared gate. Any part of your truck must be in line with the gate.
Reposition: Any time you pick up your truck and relocate it back on the course at or behind your furthest point of advance.
Rollover: If you end up on your roof and need to use your hands to put the truck back on the wheels. Flip your truck in any direction or in place. You can not "relocate" your truck to another part of the course.
Assist: An assist allows you to act as a “winch” for your RC Truck. You may hook your finger on the bumper or push the truck to help it get over an obstacle that would normally require a winch on your vehicle. If you have a winch installed on your vehicle, you may use it instead of the assist without the cost of a penalty.
Reverse: When you move backwards under the power of the motor. Moving backwards, pause without forward movement, then moving backwards again is the same reverse.
Did Not Finish(DNF) in 7 minutes: If you do not complete your run in 7 minutes, your score becomes 7 minutes and the number of accumulated penalty points on your first DNF. Second DNF, your score becomes 1 second, and 1 penalty point. 3 DNF disqualifies your attempts for the event. No penalty for off-course repair if you break. Pause time and write it on your paper. Resume time where you left off and position at the last gate cleared.
Did Not Start(DNS): If you fail to attempt a run due to a broken truck or need to leave. You can only run 1 truck/entry in the series per day.
Competition Explanation
The consistency crawler competition event is an event where you compete against yourself with your truck in its current configuration. You will run the course a total of three times while assessing the penalties incurred on each run.
1st Run - On your first run, the goal is to traverse the course in the allotted time with the least amount of penalties you and your truck are capable of achieving. During that run, you can ask the judge to call out your time remaining and current number of penalty points.
2nd and 3rd Run - On your last two runs, the goal is to complete the course as close to the same amount of time and the same amount of penalty points. During this run, the judge can not announce or allow you to look at your current time or points. You must remember and estimate your time and points as you go to try and stay consistent.
Consistency Scoring - Once you have completed your three attempts. Your time and penalties are averaged separately, then combined for an overall consistency percentage. The closer to the same time and penalty points you can achieve on all three runs, the higher the consistency percentage will be.
Winner
The winners are determined by who achieved the highest consistency percentage. (See Example Below)
